UN Country Team (UNCT)

The UN agencies, funds and programmes, collectively called the UN Country Team (UNCT), have operated in Timor-Leste since 1999 and include:

• Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)
• International Labour Organization (ILO)
• International Organization for Migration (IOM)
• United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF)
• United Nations Development Programm (UNDP)
• United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
• United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)
• The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)
• United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN WOMEN)
• United Nations World Food Programme (WFP)
• World Health Organization (WHO)

The UNCT as a UN team also includes:

• Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR)
• UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS)
• The International Financial Institutions:
  • Asian Development Bank
  • The World Bank
• As well as non-resident agencies that have their offices based in the region, such as:
  • United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
  • United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
  • United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS)
  • World Tourism Organization (WTO)
